Black Country Impact training opportunities
3 APR 2023
Living in the Black Country and ages 16 to 29, and ambitious to get that dream job?
The Black Country Impact offers bespoke free training, tailored support, and one-to-one training to help young people take the next steps towards training or a job.
The Black Country Impact supports 16 to 29-year-olds, living across the Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton boroughs, who are not in employment, education or training.
By forging relations with local businesses and taking part in specialist one-to-one training, we can help young people achieve their goal of employment or gaining lifelong skills and trades.
The project offers tailored packages of support and opportunities through traineeships, apprenticeships, coaching, work placements and self-employment advice.
With no tuition fees to pay, the Black Country Impact is the best alternative to traditional training courses. There is no time limit to the support, but it is usually for around 9-12 months.
The Black Country Impact provides a key worker or mentor, to support young people through their journey, providing advice, support and guidance. Support can also include help with travel, childcare and equipment, making it simple to start a job or training.
The project's strength is its individual and personal approach, giving young people across the Black Country the most flexible and personal plans possible.
Since its launch in 2016, The Black Country Impact has already helped over 14,000 young people aged 16 to 2-years-old progress into employment.
The project has received up to £38.7 million of funding, made up of £19.36 million from the European Social Fund and £19.36 million from the Youth Employment Initiative, plus match funding of up to £19.36 million from the National Lottery Community Fund and partners.
