Last week, journalists at 404 Media , highlighted that Spy.pet was scraping and selling billions of public server messages, from popular servers.  Initially, Discord stated they were "investigating the matter." emphasizing their commitment to user safety.   Switching Sides: Overwatch 2 releases 'Mirrorwatch' Event   23 april 2024 Blizzard has launched 'Mirrorwatch', a limited-time event where heroes and villains trade places. Along with the release of Venture , Blizzard has launched the much anticipated 'Mirrorwatch' event, where Overwatch and Talon characters take on new personas.   Voters reminded to check for polling station changes   22 APRIL 2024 Sandwell residents who plan to cast their vote at a polling station on Thursday 2 May are reminded to check that they have an accepted form of photo ID. Forms of photo ID that will be accepted at the polling station include: a passport, photo driving licence (including provisional), Older Person's or Disabled Person's bus pass, Blue Badge, and Voter Authority Certificate. Residents can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate to use in the upcoming May elections by 5PM on Wednesday 24 April, 2024. Expired forms of photo ID, such as an expired passport, will be accepted as long as the photo still looks like you. A full list of accepted forms of photo ID is available on the Electoral Commission's website .             Discord's April Fools' Loot Boxes   01 APRIL 2024 As part of an elaborate joke, Discord 'launched' Loot Boxes in which users can claim virtual items.  In a move that comes as a surprise, social media platform Discord has joined in this years April Fools charades, by 'launching' their Loot Boxes. After much debate as to the future of the social media platform , many critics like YouTuber 'No Text To Speech' theorized that the platform will introduce a 'Loot Box' style of system to gain much needed revenue.  Discord teased the idea of Loot Boxes many times, however today (1st April) the platform officially launched Loot Boxes , releasing a video on YouTube.
