Worcester parking machines not accepting payments
14 MARCH 2023
Parking machines across Worcester City Centre are no longer accepting card and cash payments.
Worcester City Council have withdrawn card and cash payments at parking machines across five of the city's car parks, leaving motorists unable to pay.
Drivers have been told to use the app 'Ringo' to pay for parking at Cattle Market, Pitchcroft, Croft Road, Newport Street, and Tybridge Street.
Alison Fitzgerald, Technical Supervisor of Worcester City Council, said "We have three car parks which are just cashless payments at the moment, this is because of the recent flooding, and issues with the power supply.
"The machines were taken out of the ground due to the rising water to prevent damage and for safety reasons."
Since her statement, Worcester City Council have removed pay machines at a further two locations, brining the total to five.
Worcester City Council have hopes that the machines will be re-installed. More information can be found at: https://www.worcester.gov.uk/parking.
